Best Brunch in Bali: 31 places by district, and where the free flow is (2026)

Fabian Monroe · updated 2026-09-08

Bali has two entirely different things called brunch and they are almost never written about in the same place. One is a cafe with sourdough and a flat white, open from seven, and you go in shorts. The other is a hotel buffet with a seafood bar and a bottomless glass, it runs four hours on a Sunday and costs more than a night in a decent guesthouse.

Most guides pick one and pretend the other does not exist. The bottomless lists are all hotels in Nusa Dua; the cafe lists are all Canggu and Seminyak. So this one does both, split by where you actually are.

Districts first, because that is how the decision actually gets made, starting with the Bukit and working north. Then the free-flow Sunday brunches in their own section, with what they cost, because that is a different kind of day and a different kind of bill.

The short version

The two kinds of brunch in Bali

The cafe kind opens at seven, closes somewhere between five and eleven, and serves the same thing every day: eggs on sourdough, bowls, a flat white made properly. You walk in. It costs somewhere between 80,000 and 200,000 a head. This is what people in Canggu, Seminyak, Ubud and Uluwatu mean by brunch, and it is the larger half of this list.

The hotel kind happens on Sunday, runs three or four hours, and is a buffet with a seafood bar, live stations and a bottomless glass. It starts around 600,000 and goes past 1,500,000. You book it days ahead. It lives almost entirely in Nusa Dua and it is a different day out, not a more expensive version of the same one.

The lists you find online usually cover one and ignore the other. Below, both, split by where you are.

Brunch in Uluwatu

The Bukit wakes at six and eats early, because everyone has been in the water since first light. Breakfast is the meal this coast does best and it runs long into the afternoon, and one of these is a cove at the bottom of a cliff lift.

1. SUKA ULUWATU – Uluwatu

SUKA ULUWATU

The busiest breakfast room on the Uluwatu strip, almost eleven thousand ratings at 4.8, half seven to ten. It is the default for a reason and the queue at nine on a Sunday is the price of everyone else knowing.

Also on our list of avocado toast in Uluwatu and shakshuka in Bali.

2. WAATU – Uluwatu

WAATU

The highest rated room in this whole guide at 4.9, and with under nine hundred ratings it has not been found the way SUKA has. Half seven in the morning to eleven at night, top price band, and going now is the point.

3. Shaffa GastroBazar, Wood-Fired Mediterranean Kitchen – Balangan

Balangan, ten minutes north of Bingin, and the one on this list where brunch happens on an open terrace over village rooftops rather than in a room. Breakfast runs to two in the afternoon, the whole place is terrace with no indoor dining, and the kitchen works on live fire, which is unusual for a breakfast menu: shakshuka at 88,000, hummus at 62,000, masala falafel at 70,000. Eight to ten Tuesday to Sunday, four on Mondays. Dogs are fine, there is parking, and there is no wheelchair access.

4. Alchemy Uluwatu – Uluwatu

Raw, plant-based and the original of its kind on this coast. Half seven to half nine, a salad bar you build yourself, and a room full of people who have been in the water since six.

Restaurant · 4.6 from 3833 Google reviews · $$ · 7:30 AM – 9:30 PM

5. Karma Beach Bali – Uluwatu

A cove you cannot otherwise reach, and an inclined lift down to it. Karma Kandara sits on the Ungasan cliff and its beach club is at the bottom, on white sand between two headlands. Ten in the morning to nine at night, top price band, and the food is better than a beach club is obliged to make it. Check the lift is running before you drive out: when it is not, the walk back up is the afternoon.

Brunch in Canggu and Pererenan

Canggu has more cafes per square kilometre than anywhere else on the island, and the standard is high because nothing mediocre survives a season here. Seven that are worth the ride, from the one that opens at six to the one that nobody has found yet.

6. Brunch Club Pererenan – Canggu

The one with brunch in the name, and it earns it. Pererenan, 4.9 across more than three and a half thousand ratings, which on this island is close to unheard of at that volume. Eight in the morning until six in the evening and then it stops: this is a place built for one meal rather than a cafe that also does dinner. Walk in early or wait.

Cafe · 4.9 from 3554 Google reviews · 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM

7. nüde cafe Berawa – Canggu

nüde cafe Berawa
Photo: nüde cafe Berawa, via Google

Nearly nine thousand ratings and it still holds 4.8, which almost nothing at that volume does. Berawa, seven in the morning to ten at night and to eleven at the weekend. Its own menu calls it brunch and so do the people who write about it, which is rarer than you would think on this coast.

Cafe · 4.8 from 8664 Google reviews · $$ · 7:00 AM – 10:00 PM (hours vary Fri, Sat)

Also on our list of shakshuka in Bali.

8. openhouse cafe | Pererenan – Pererenan

Pererenan, and the room that still feels like Canggu did five years ago. Seven in the morning to eleven at night, so it takes a late breakfast and a proper dinner without changing character. Two guides name it and neither is a big one, which is usually a good sign.

Cafe · 4.6 from 1221 Google reviews · $$ · 7:00 AM – 11:00 PM

9. Copenhagen CAFE Canggu – Canggu

Opens at six in the morning, earlier than anything else here, and closes at six in the evening, which tells you exactly what it is for. Three thousand ratings and four separate publications name it. The 4.4 is the lowest on this list and it is still the one people keep going back to, largely because at half past six it is the only thing open.

Brunch Restaurant · 4.4 from 3080 Google reviews · $$ · 6:00 AM – 6:00 PM

10. The Common – Canggu

The one people who live here send other people to. Seven to ten, and the reviews keep landing on the same phrase: the best breakfast they had on the island, and in Canggu that is a claim with real competition behind it.

Cafe · 4.5 from 1381 Google reviews · $$ · 7:00 AM – 10:00 PM

11. The Avocado Factory – Canggu

The Avocado Factory
Photo: The Avocado Factory, via Google

Named after the ingredient and not embarrassed about it. Seven in the morning to eleven at night on Batu Mejan, and the widest opening hours of anything in this section, so it takes a late brunch when everywhere else has moved on to lunch. It is on our avocado toast list too, which tells you where its attention goes.

Restaurant · 4.5 from 3947 Google reviews · $$ · 7:00 AM – 11:00 PM

Also on our list of avocado toast in Bali.

12. BRIGHT coffee and brunch – Canggu

Brunch in the name and 4.9 to back it up. Small, seven in the morning to six at night, and it does one thing. Under six hundred ratings, so it has not been found yet, and the point of a guide is to say so before it is.

Restaurant · 4.9 from 590 Google reviews · $$ · 7:00 AM – 6:00 PM

Brunch in Seminyak

Seminyak is where the Australian cafe model landed first and it shows: the deepest brunch bench on the island, bigger rooms than anywhere else, and one beach club that does not fit any of the categories.

13. Sisterfields – Seminyak

Sisterfields
Photo: Sisterfields, via Google

The biggest brunch room in Bali by a distance: more than seventeen thousand ratings at 4.8, which almost nothing at that scale holds. Australian-style all day, indoor and courtyard seating, seven to nine. It is busy at every hour it is open and the queue moves faster than it looks.

Cafe · 4.8 from 16983 Google reviews · 7:00 AM – 9:00 PM

Also on our list of avocado toast in Bali.

14. Livingstone – Seminyak

Cafe and bakery, and the bread is the reason. Fourteen and a half thousand ratings at 4.8, seven in the morning to ten at night. People who have eaten across the island keep calling it one of the best brunches here, and it gets named far less often than it deserves.

Cafe · 4.8 from 14468 Google reviews · $$ · 7:00 AM – 10:00 PM

15. Nook – Seminyak

Brunch over rice fields, which sounds like a cliche until you sit in it. Fourteen thousand ratings, open sides, paddies on three of them, eight to ten. Western and Balinese on the same menu and both done properly. It is a walk off the main road and that is the point.

Western Restaurant · 4.5 from 14087 Google reviews · $$ · 8:00 AM – 10:00 PM

16. Corner House Bali – Seminyak

The one that stays open when the others have closed. Seven in the morning until midnight on Laksmana, airy room, terrace at the front, international menu that does not pretend to be anything else. Nine thousand ratings at 4.7.

Western Restaurant · 4.7 from 9444 Google reviews · 7:00 AM – 12:00 AM

17. Revolver Seminyak – Seminyak

The coffee one. A small, dark, deliberately fashionable room off Seminyak's main strip, and the espresso is the thing people came for long before the food menu grew. Seven to eleven. Expect to wait at nine on a Sunday and expect it to be worth it.

Cafe · 4.7 from 8495 Google reviews · 7:00 AM – 11:00 PM

18. Bread Yard – Seminyak

A bakery that grew a brunch menu rather than the reverse, and it shows in the bread. Six and a half thousand ratings at 4.8, seven in the morning to half nine at night.

Restaurant · 4.8 from 6550 Google reviews · $$ · 7:00 AM – 9:30 PM

19. KYND COMMUNITY SEMINYAK – Seminyak

Pink, loud and entirely plant-based, and it has been the vegan default in Seminyak for years. Smoothie bowls, waffles, the wall everyone photographs. Half seven to nine. Whether the room is your taste or not, the kitchen is serious.

Vegetarian Restaurant · 4.6 from 5937 Google reviews · $$ · 7:30 AM – 9:00 PM

20. HUT Cafe Bali – Seminyak

Closes at five, which changes what it is. A brunch-and-lunch room rather than an all-day cafe, seven to five, and quieter in the afternoon than anything else in this section. 4.7 across two thousand ratings.

Cafe · 4.7 from 2172 Google reviews · $$ · 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM

21. Mauri Restaurant – Seminyak

The expensive one, and the only Italian in this section. Upscale room, contemporary Italian, and its weekend brunch is a sit-down affair rather than a counter order. Top price band. Book it.

Italian Restaurant · 4.8 from 1797 Google reviews · $$$$ · 6:30 – 11:00 PM (plus lunch Fri, Sat, Sun)

22. Desa Potato Head Bali – Seminyak

Not a cafe and not a hotel brunch. A beach club in Seminyak that opens at ten and runs past midnight, with the architecture people photograph and a kitchen that takes itself more seriously than the setting requires. Go for a late one rather than an early one.

Resort hotel · 4.7 from 9098 Google reviews · 10:00 AM – 12:00 AM (hours vary Fri, Sat, Sun)

Brunch in Ubud

Ubud eats earlier and quieter than the coast, and its brunch leans plant-based without making a performance of it. Nothing here needs booking before noon.

23. SUKA UBUD – Ubud

The Ubud branch of the one everybody on the Bukit already knows. Half seven to ten, nearly eight thousand ratings at 4.8, and the same specialty coffee programme that made the Uluwatu room busy. The quietest way into a very popular name.

Restaurant · 4.8 from 7861 Google reviews · $$ · 7:30 AM – 10:00 PM

24. Pison Ubud – Ubud

Seven in the morning to eleven at night, seven days. Nearly seven and a half thousand ratings. A coffee-first room that does a full brunch menu, and one of the few places in central Ubud that is genuinely open when you want it.

Restaurant · 4.5 from 7324 Google reviews · 7:00 AM – 11:00 PM

25. Milk & Madu Ubud – Ubud

The reliable one. A small chain and none the worse for it: the same wood-fired pizza, big breakfasts and long opening hours in Ubud as on the coast, seven to ten. When a plan collapses at four in the afternoon this is the answer.

Cafe · 4.6 from 6118 Google reviews · 7:00 AM – 10:00 PM

26. Zest – Ubud

Zest
Photo: Zest Ubud, via Google

Plant-based from end to end, and the room the town is known for. Up in Penestanan, eight in the morning to ten at night, and the kitchen every other vegan place in Bali is measured against. Go for the building as much as the food.

Vegan Restaurant · 4.3 from 3904 Google reviews · 8:00 AM – 10:00 PM

Sunday brunch in Bali: where the free flow is, and what it costs

This is the other thing entirely. Sunday, three or four hours, a buffet built around a seafood bar and live stations, and a glass nobody lets get empty. All five sit in resorts, four of them in Nusa Dua. Book ahead: the good ones fill a week out, and two of them fill further.

27. Kayuputi – Nusa Dua

The one with the sabre. St. Regis, Nusa Dua, and the most theatrical brunch in Bali: caviar, a champagne sabrage ritual, and pre-brunch drinks at the aperitif bar from eleven. Saturday runs 1,100,000 nett; Sunday, billed as The Astor, is 1,500,000 nett. Eleven to three both days. It books out furthest ahead of anything here.

Restaurant · 4.7 from 674 Google reviews · $$$$ · 12:00 – 10:30 PM

28. Soleil at Mulia Bali – Nusa Dua

The long-established favourite, and still the one locals name first. The Mulia, Sunday eleven to three: antipasti, pan-Asian small plates, a seafood bar, live grill stations, and free-flow bubbles, cocktails or mimosas as a package on top. Seats are limited and it fills well ahead. This is the one to book if you are only doing one.

Mediterranean Restaurant · 4.7 from 1203 Google reviews · $$$$ · 11:00 AM – 11:00 PM

29. Boneka Restaurant – Nusa Dua

The Ritz-Carlton's, and the one Bali residents queue for. Nusa Dua, Sunday, and famous enough locally that reservations are not optional. They do not publish the price, so settle it on the phone.

Buffet Restaurant · 4.8 from 332 Google reviews · $$$$ · 7:00 – 11:00 AM, 6:00 – 10:00 PM

30. Cucina – Nusa Dua

Sofitel, Nusa Dua, Sunday eleven to three with the beach bar running to five. From 888,000++ with free-flow soft drinks in the headline price, children six to twelve at 388,000++ and under six free. The lowest-rated room in this section at 4.1, which is worth knowing before you commit a Sunday to it.

Italian Restaurant · 4.1 from 439 Google reviews · $$$$ · 5:00 – 11:00 PM (plus lunch Sun)

31. Sundara – Jimbaran

Sundara
Photo: Sundara, via Google

Four Seasons, on the sand at Jimbaran, and the flattest setting of the lot: no cliff, no stairs, a pool that runs along the beach. Its Sunday brunch is billed as the Pink Brunch and it is the clearest example on this page of how free flow actually works. The headline package, Pink Indulgence, is 1,250,000 a head and what flows freely in it is water and chilled juice. Free-flow cocktails are a separate 750,000 on top. There is a two-person package at 3,800,000 that includes a bottle of Whispering Angel. Pool and daybed access come with the brunch, subject to availability, which is not nothing on a Sunday in Jimbaran.

Seafood Restaurant · 4.6 from 1530 Google reviews · $$$$ · 11:00 AM – 1:00 AM

Also on our list of the Uluwatu sunset.

What free flow actually includes, and what ++ means

Two things on every hotel brunch price catch people out.

The ++ is not decoration. A price written as 798,000++ means before tax and service, which in Bali adds around 21%. That 798,000 arrives as roughly 965,000. A price written as nett, like the 1,500,000 at Kayuputi, is the whole thing.

Free flow is a package, not a default. At most of these the headline price buys the food and soft drinks, and the bottomless wine, sparkling or cocktails is a separate tier on top, usually 350,000 to 650,000. Read which one you are booking. Where a venue includes the alcohol in the headline number, it says so loudly, because it is unusual.

Children are usually half price between six and twelve and free below six, but that varies by hotel and is worth confirming when you book rather than at the table.

Questions people ask about brunch in Bali

Where is the best brunch in Bali?

It depends which of the two things you mean. For a cafe brunch, Sisterfields in Seminyak has the scale and the consistency, Livingstone has the bread, and Brunch Club in Pererenan holds a 4.9 across more than three thousand ratings. For a Sunday free-flow, Soleil at The Mulia is the one most people name first, and Kayuputi at St. Regis is the one with the caviar and the sabre. They are different days out.

Where is the best brunch in Canggu?

Brunch Club in Pererenan on the numbers: 4.9 across more than three and a half thousand ratings, eight to six and nothing after. nüde in Berawa is the biggest, nearly nine thousand ratings at 4.8. Copenhagen opens at six in the morning, earlier than anything else, and The Common is the one residents send visitors to. If you want the room nobody has found yet, BRIGHT holds a 4.9 on under six hundred ratings.

Where is the best brunch in Seminyak?

Seminyak has the deepest bench on the island. Sisterfields is the biggest and most consistent, over seventeen thousand ratings at 4.8. Livingstone is the bakery answer. Nook puts you over rice fields. Corner House runs to midnight when everything else has shut. Revolver is the coffee one, KYND the plant-based one, and Mauri the expensive sit-down one.

Where is the best brunch in Ubud?

SUKA UBUD for coffee done properly, Pison for the longest hours in the centre, Milk & Madu when the plan has fallen apart, and Zest if you want the plant-based room the town is known for. Ubud eats earlier and quieter than the coast and none of these needs a booking.

Where is the best brunch in Uluwatu?

SUKA is the default and the busiest. Waatu holds the highest rating in this guide at 4.9 and has not been found yet. Alchemy is the raw, plant-based original on this coast. And ten minutes north in Balangan, Shaffa serves breakfast until two on an open terrace over village rooftops, with the kitchen working on live fire.

Where is the best Sunday brunch in Bali?

Nusa Dua, almost without exception, because that is where the resorts are. Soleil at The Mulia is the long-standing favourite and the one to book if you are only doing one. Kayuputi at St. Regis is the most theatrical: caviar and a champagne sabrage, 1,500,000 nett on Sunday. Boneka at the Ritz-Carlton is the one Bali residents queue for. All three need booking days ahead.

How much is a free-flow brunch in Bali?

Between about 585,000 and 1,500,000 a head before drinks. Prego at The Westin is the cheapest way in at 585,000++, Pala at the Apurva Kempinski is 798,000++, Cucina at the Sofitel starts at 888,000++, Sundara's Pink Brunch is 1,250,000, and Kayuputi at St. Regis runs 1,100,000 nett on Saturday and 1,500,000 nett on Sunday. Then check what the word free flow is actually attached to: at Sundara the headline price flows water and juice, and the cocktails are another 750,000.

What does ++ mean on a Bali brunch price?

Before tax and service, which together add around 21%. A brunch advertised at 798,000++ arrives on the bill at roughly 965,000. A price written as nett already includes both. It is the single most common surprise at a hotel brunch here.

Do you need to book brunch in Bali?

For the Sunday hotel brunches, yes, and days ahead: Soleil and Kayuputi fill furthest out and Boneka is famous enough locally that walking in is not realistic. For the cafes, no. Sisterfields, SUKA and Revolver all have queues at nine on a Sunday and all of them move.

What time does brunch start and end in Bali?

Cafes open at seven, some at half seven, and most run all day. The ones that stop early are worth knowing: Brunch Club in Pererenan closes at six and HUT in Seminyak at five. Hotel Sunday brunches run in a fixed window, usually eleven to three or twelve to four, and they mean it.

Is there good vegan brunch in Bali?

Unusually good, and not only in Ubud. KYND in Seminyak is entirely plant-based and has been the default for years. Zest in Ubud is the room the island measures other vegan kitchens against. Alchemy in Uluwatu is raw and plant-based with a build-your-own salad bar. Most other kitchens on this list will take the egg or the cheese off if you ask when you order.
