Best Coffee in Uluwatu: 21 coffee shops and cafes, and what to order in each (2026)
Uluwatu runs on coffee the way it runs on surf: the first cup is before the first paddle-out, and the second is where people sit until the tide turns. The coffee here is serious now, with a roaster of its own, baristas who pour the milk at your table, and cups you will not find at home.
This is not a ranking from best to worst, or from worst to best. It is simply our favourite places for coffee in Uluwatu, Bingin and Ungasan: coffee shops where the cup is the point, cafes with a bakery counter, a cliff with a view, surf shops and big all-day rooms. For each one, what reviewers order, and what they complain about.

The short version
- For the cup itself: Expat. Roasters, a Bali roaster where you pick the beans and the milk is poured at the table; Break Point in Bingin, called the best coffee in Bali by reviewers this year.
- Earliest: Son of a Baker and Saltwood, from six.
- With a view: Saltwood over the surf at Bingin, in the morning before the sunset crowd.
- Cups you will not find at home: a butterscotch sea salt latte at Break Point, banana coffee and an orange tonic at BRAUD, raf and a halva latte at Shaffa, a peach Americano at Expat. Roasters.
- With a pastry: Artisan for the croissants, BAKED for the pain au chocolat, Shaffa for a filled croissant at breakfast.
- To work: Expat. Roasters, Bull's and % Arabica, for air-conditioning and sockets.
1. Expat. Roasters – Uluwatu

A Bali roaster's own coffee bar, and the one to go to for the beans. Expat. Roasters buys from Balinese farmers and roasts on the island, and here you choose the blend: regulars name Patria, Kintamani washed and honey with Mandheling, chocolate and pomelo, and Terra, with a Brazilian bean in it. The barista pours the milk at your table and talks you through the origin. They sell beans, including a water-process decaf, and ground to order. Air-conditioned downstairs, a breezy half-open floor upstairs, plenty of sockets. It is not cheap: one reviewer paid 64,000 for a latte, and the flat white comes single-shot unless you ask for a double. Half past six to seven. Fewer than a hundred ratings so far.

2. BGS Uluwatu – Uluwatu

A surf shop with a coffee bar, and the almond milk is made in-house. The almond milk cappuccino is what people come back for every morning, and the small room fills with locals. There are only a handful of tables on the main road. The honest note: two reviewers this year found it grubby, dog hair on the cushions and a bathroom that needs work, and a matcha at 75,000 disappointed. The coffee itself is not in doubt. From half past six.

3. Shaffa GastroBazar, Wood-Fired Mediterranean Kitchen – Uluwatu

The raf, and a halva latte. Up at the Balangan end of the district. Raf, the creamy coffee from Russia and Eastern Europe, comes three ways here, classic, orange and matcha, from 39,000, next to a halva latte, bumble and an iced coconut coffee; nineteen coffees in all, and a flat white is 35,000. Croissants are baked in the kitchen every day and come filled at breakfast, and in the afternoon there is honey cake and a lazy napoleon. An open-air terrace with the ocean in the distance, and Wi-Fi upstairs if you need it. Eight to ten, four on Mondays.

4. % Arabica at Alchemy – Bingin

The Kyoto chain's counter, inside the Alchemy garden. Alchemy itself is fully vegan, and its own coffee is decaf only, so % Arabica is where the regular coffee is: take your cup into the garden and order from the vegan kitchen. You can pick the beans, the coconut coffee is the signature, and reviewers single out the Spanish latte and the dark latte. There is air-conditioning and a long desk with outlets inside. It gets crowded and pickup can be slow, and two local visitors this year felt served last. With The Loft, the lowest score on this page at 4.3, and the bad reviews are about service, not the coffee. Seven to ten.

5. Chela – Bingin

Open-air and calm, in Bingin. A garden restaurant that most people come to for brunch, porridge, charcoal smoothie bowls and sandwiches, and that works for an afternoon coffee too; one regular comes for the coffee and the energy balls. There is no air-conditioning, but the fans keep it cool, and the music is kept low. Not cheap. Eight in the morning to eleven at night.

6. Break Point Coffee – Bingin

Small, and the one reviewers keep calling the best coffee they had in Bali. A barista with five years behind the counter wrote that the cup is smooth and naturally sweet, with the notes of the Colombian and Brazilian beans they use. The order regulars name is the iced butterscotch sea salt latte. They make their own almond milk, the smoothie bowls and sandwiches are fairly priced, and there is a balcony upstairs to drink it on. Seven to five. Fewer than a hundred and thirty ratings so far, all of them high.

7. Analog – Uluwatu

Pour-over, and a long table to work at. Reviewers order the V60 and call the latte one of the best they had in Bali; the room is designed, the music good, and people stay for hours. It is busy and on the pricier side. One thing to check at the till: a reviewer found a gratuity added on top of the service charge on some visits and not others. Half past six in the morning to eleven at night, four on Mondays.

8. UM Brunch & Specialty Coffee – Uluwatu

On a quiet street, for the iced latte. "Best iced latte I have had during two weeks in Bali," says one review, and the cappuccinos and strong coffee get the same kind of note. The bowls are big, the matcha with coconut is not too sweet, and you can take a sourdough loaf home. Eight to five.

10. BAKED. – Uluwatu

Croissants, and oat milk at no extra charge. Reviewers rate the pain au chocolat and the bagel with lox, and the signature warm latte and the iced coffee with cream and vanilla. The weak point is the order of things: food tends to arrive before the coffee, and late in the day some pastries run out. 4.4 across eight hundred and fifty ratings. Seven to five.
Bakery · 4.4 from 851 Google reviews · $$ · 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM
11. BRAUD – Uluwatu

For the cups you will not have had before. Banana coffee, a Mont Blanc that one regular rates above it, and an orange tonic coffee another calls magic. The grilled cheese and the doughnuts come up too. You order at the counter at the front, which confuses people when a server has already seated them. Prices are a little above the street. Eight to ten.
Cafe · 4.8 from 1512 Google reviews · $$ · 8:00 AM – 10:00 PM
12. Bull's Coffee Pecatu Roastery – Pecatu

A Bali roaster's own cafe, with air-conditioning and sockets. Bull's roasts its beans for a chocolate and almond profile. Reviewers order the V60 after describing what they like to the barista, a dirty latte at 40,000 and an Italian shakerato at 37,000. The indoor room is cooled and has places to charge a laptop. The catch is delivery: much of the trade goes out by Grab and Gojek, and one breakfast guest was told to wait thirty to forty minutes for a coffee. Seven to ten.
Coffee Shop · 4.6 from 863 Google reviews · $$ · 7:00 AM – 10:00 PM
13. Saltwood – Bingin

Not a cafe, but the coffee with the best view. A restaurant on the cliff over the surf at Bingin and Dreamland, open from six with coffee and baked goods in the morning. One reviewer this month called the coffee the best they found. Come early: from three or four in the afternoon the beanbags fill for sunset, service slows, and tables need booking. Six to ten.

A bakehouse to sit in for hours. Floor cushions, curtains and kittens, a view reviewers like, and staff who learn your name. Reviewers call the coffee one of the best in the area and the almond croissant one of the best they had, and the kitchen cooks without seed oils. It is not for work: the Wi-Fi comes and goes. Prices are on the high side, a coconut is 40,000, and service can be slow. From six in the morning.

Surf shop and cafe · 4.4 from 1326 Google reviews · 7:00 AM – 10:00 PM
18. The Loft – Uluwatu

A long menu and a split verdict. Lots of coffee options, from a 35,000 black to a Nutella iced latte that regulars recommend, and plant milk for 15,000 more. Cafe · 4.9 from 1023 Google reviews · $$ · 6:30 AM – 6:30 PM
21. Suburbia Cafe – Ungasan

All black inside, and the Mont Blanc. Reviewers call the Mont Blanc coffee a winner, and the iced coffee well priced. Dogs are allowed, water is free, and it is a good place to sit and work. The downside is the main road outside, which makes it noisy, and upstairs can be hot. Seven to ten.
